Safe Church at HCC
Our Commitment
At HCC, we believe that every person — regardless of age, gender, race, or ability — is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with absolute respect.
We are a community committed to honouring God and the testimony of Jesus, specifically in how we care for children and vulnerable adults. To ensure our church is a place of safety and trust, we have adopted the WPC Safe Church Standard (2025), which incorporates the 10 Child Safe Standards recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Safe Leaders & Safe Programs
Every person in a position of authority at HCC including our ministers, elders, staff, and volunteer leaders is required to:
Hold a current Working with Children Check
Complete mandatory Safe Church Training
Abide by the WPC Code of Conduct
Complete a Panel Interview and provide Referee Details
Follow our Electronic Communication Guidelines to ensure all digital interactions are transparent and appropriate
